Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited institution
  • Professional Engineer licensed in Virginia, or reciprocity in 3 months
  • Functional knowledge of AutoCAD, Microstation, and Revit is required
  • Minimum 6 years in design of complex electrical and controls systems
  • Detailed understanding of three phase power systems and how they are applied in industrial, building,  and campus settings
  • Detailed understanding of industrial controls systems and instrumentation
  • Fundamental knowledge of power system coordination techniques and arc flash assessments
  • Experience with power system modeling software such as SKM and ETAP
  • Experience Programming relays and controllers (i.e. GE, SEL) is a plus 

The Electrical Engineer selected for this position will:

  • Provide engineering design for power and control projects for federal, municipal, university,  and industrial clients
  • Provide engineering oversight and direction to a team of junior engineers and designers
  • Write technical specifications for power systems equipment
  • Support contruction and commissioning activities for power system projects
  • Develop models of power systems amnd perform detailed calculations, coordination studies, and arc flash hazard assessments
  • Create schematic disgrams such as one-lines and riser diagrams, and control sysatemwiring diagrams
  • Perform detailed field data collection
  • Communicate project information to project manager, design and construction team members, and clients
  • Be responsible for quality and accuracy of your work as well as the work of design team members under your direction 

The Electrical Engineer must possess/demonstrate:

  • Excellent work ethic
  • Good analytical and reasoning skills
  • Ability to write and speak clearly and effectively
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with peers, colleagues, and clients
  • Experience on engineering design teams 


  • Engineer must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Professional Engineering licensure is required
  • Prior consulting engineering experience is preferred
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance is required
  • Current DOD or DOE security clearance is preferred
  • LEED BD+C or LEED O+M accrediation is required
